Happy New Year!
Hello Everyone! I hope you’ve all had a lovely Christmas and celebrated as much as you can with the UK 2020 festive period restrictions in place! Christmas has looked a little different this year although I’m still wishing all my lovely clients, friends and family a Happy New Year for 2021!
During this time I wanted to share with you some brilliant images from a NYE Wedding styled photoshoot I was part of recently - I absolutely LOVE weddings on NYE and as the bookings I had for this year had to be postponed it was such a pleasure to style the hair and make up for this glamorous shoot and meet an amazing team of wedding suppliers to make up for it!
The wonderful images were all captured by brilliant photographer Archie at Bowl of Corks and the location of the shoot was the beautiful Coton House Farm in Lichfield - a lovely, exclusive, oak barn wedding venue nestled in the picturesque village of Whittington in rural Staffordshire. In such a peaceful location and gorgeous setting it is the perfect place for a romantic, rustic and relaxed wedding and I fell in love with the place. The bridal prep room for the morning of a wedding is a bridal AND hair and make up artist’s dream with plenty of natural light, large mirrors, comfortable chairs and pretty floral wallpaper. I hope I get to return here sometime for a real wedding and enjoy the atmosphere again!
The concept, planning and coordination for this photoshoot was entirely created by Abigail at Bowl and Corks Weddings and I absolutely LOVED the colours and theme chosen for it - it all went perfectly together and it was so nice to be part of a wedding shoot with such beautiful, on-trend, vibrant colours!
The stunning wedding cake, pictured left, was made by the talented Cathlene at Cathlene’s Cakes - bright, sparkly and vibrant, it ticked all the boxes for the perfect wedding cake and married perfectly with the theme chosen by Abigail! I loved the ombre effect of different orange tones between tiers and gold leaf to add to the NYE glamour.
It was such a fabulous shoot to be part of with a team of amazing wedding suppliers in Staffordshire and West Midlands and I was so grateful to be a part of it after just recently moving to the area.
The hair was styled into a low, textured bun with pearl accessories supplied by Donna at Alice Rose Bridal (along with all the beautiful dresses) and our model Lauren’s make up was created using a variety of cruelty free make up including Charlotte Tilbury, Urban Decay and Too Faced. I’ll be sharing the eyeshadow palette I used with on trend ‘rust’ colours on my next blog post and a newly discovered primer too!
Every year I’m always thankful and grateful to my lovely clients, fellow wedding industry suppliers and beautiful brides for their support and 2020 has been a year where I’ve appreciated you all more than ever.
I’m forever hopeful that one day, hopefully sometime in 2021. all the brides who had to postpone their wedding in 2020 will be able to celebrate with friends and family at their dream wedding and it will all be worth the wait. As a Covid bride myself I understand the heartache this has caused and send you all my love - I can’t wait to meet everyone who has their wedding booked in 2021 and 2022 and remain hopeful that big weddings will be back soon - even bigger and better than ever before!
Thank you to everyone who booked me for their wedding or haircuts in 2020, everyone who is booked in for January 2021 onwards and I wish you all a Happy and Healthy start to 2021. However you celebrate NYE this year have a fabulous time, stay safe and have faith that one day we’ll be reunited with our loved ones!
Lots of love and best wishes,
Sarah xx
