Eyeshadow Review

Makeup Revolution is one of my all time favourite high street make up brands and their eyeshadow palettes never fail to amaze me. On this post I want to introduce you to the ‘Makeup Revolution Forever Flawless Decadent Eyeshadow Palette’ - one of my favourite late discoveries of 2020 (a tier 3 treat!) this palette in particular is great for so many reasons.

Featuring 18 warm tone options, the Decadent palette has a range of matte and shimmer shadows ranging from deep oranges through to coppers, golds and pinks. It is highly pigmented (super important), easy to blend and the range of colours make it suitable for all day to night looks.

I initially bought this palette to be part of my personal make up collection as I wouldn’t of deemed it ‘traditionally bridal’ although when I got involved in a recent photoshoot which had a colour theme of ‘burnt oranges, rust and terracotta’ tones I knew this palette would be perfect and swiftly added it to my professional kit.

The photoshoot and model I used this palette on was featured in my last blog post - a New Years Eve Wedding styled shoot at Coton House Farm - and I’ve attached some photos to this post too so you can see some make up close ups! The three main colours I used on model Lauren’s eyes were Splendid, Plush and Luxe, blended with neutrals from another palette to match Lauren’s skin tone. Although the colours seem to be long lasting on their own, I always prep the eyelids first with a primer to ensure longevity (especially important if your lids are oily!). This time I went with Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion which is a staple product in my kit for brides although I’ve also recently discovered and fallen in love with NYX HD Eyeshadow Base - I’ll attach links to all products below - and then we finished the look with some full, strip lashes for an ultra glam NYE effect.

At first look I wouldn’t necessarily say this palette had many pink tones in it although when you swatch the colours you can see that you could quite easily create a pink daytime look with shades Lavish, Indulge and Scorched when it takes your fancy. The fall out from this palette is also very minimal, even for the shimmery colours which most people tend to expect at least a little amount from.

There’s so many eyeshadow palettes in the Forever Flawless range by Makeup Revolution which are great (the next one I hope to purchase is Affinity) and this one is particularly great as it’s cruelty free, vegan, budget friendly and rivals some of the top brands for pigmentation and luxury. It gets 10/10 from me - I just need somewhere to wear it to other than the lockdown dog walks where it will be appreciated more!
